Royal cubs may be reserved with deposits starting at 8 weeks of age and are released to new parents at 16 weeks. Before departing, RoyalLions kittens are 100% litter box trained, successfully using a vertical scratching post, have had nails clipped, been bathed and groomed weekly. By 16 weeks they have fully completed a series of 3 kitten FVRCP vaccinations, received all scheduled wormings, and a rabies vaccine depending on age. Generally we place kittens at 16 weeks so that no other shots will be necessary after placement. A physical examination, including any necessary health screenings, is provided by a practicing licensed veterinarian just before pick-up to confirm CURRENT optimal health. All health issues requiring veterinarian care prior to placement will be documented and freely disclosed. Parents who reserve a kitten are sent photos routinely and updated on the kittens’ progress through the day of delivery. Florida buyers will receive an Official Certificate of Veterinary Inspection pursuant to section 828.29 Florida Statutes. Placement is DELAYED if a kitten shows ANY signs of illness, poor potty habits, or is not recommended to be released per our veterinarian due to a health issue. Veterinarian and kitten owner references are offered upon request.
Maine Coon kittens cost $850.Considerable expenses are required for each select breeding, the proper maintenance and care of the queen, her kittens, and the running of a cattery; these include: home alterations to properly house breeding cats, the cost of outcross male and females, routine veterinarian exams, dental care, c-sections and other emergencies, Florida Health Certifications, HD radiographs, HCM screenings of parents by board certified veterinarian cardiologists (Univ. of FL), DNA testing, specialized food made for Queens and weaning kittens, supplements, vaccines and medicines, natural litter, grooming and sanitation products, monthly show fees ($500-$700 per show) which is necessary to ensure we are producing to the breed standard, annual association fees, and litter registrations. These are only some of the general costs.
Stud service outlay is based on the quality of the sire and if he has recognized titles from a major worldwide cat association. A cat who is an International Winner (IW), Regional Winner (RW), or a Supreme Grand Champion (SGC) will cost more to breed with than one without this distinction. If the breeder owns the stud of the kittens sired they must pay the show fees to earn its’ respective titles, which requires at least a full year of frequent showing and traveling. Showing a cat does not guarantee a title, it must be an outstanding example of the breed. Buying a breeder will also cost more if one of the parents earned these titles. Buyers should look for a breeder who is among the average in price within the state. Anybody drastically under should be questioned, they may be cutting corners: not using quality breeding lines; comprehensive vet care; or superior food. |

A telephone interview or visit to RoyalLions is preferred before a kitten can be reserved by a potential parent. Litter visitations are welcomed after 8 weeks old; please contact us for a mutually convenient time. Plan on washing hands and removing shoes before entering the kitten nursery, please do not be offended as we follow the same practice daily to prevent compromising young immune systems. If you wish to reserve a kitten at this time, a deposit (1/2 of the kitten fee) will formally hold the kitten in your name. He or she will be removed from availability and denied to other buyers therefore, 1/2 of the deposit will be retained if a cancellation occurs. Due to traveling distances, cattery visits are not required to reserve a kitten, many successful placements have taken place with the sharing of photos and information online and via telephone. RoyalLions encourages the offering of photos of. a new home and other pets, they may be emailed to royallions@comcast.net. We provide 24/7 in-home care and attention to our kittens so they will bring the greatest companionship to their new families. It’s our deepest concern that they go to the most optimal environments as possible where they will continue to be loved and nurtured. It is our greatest satisfaction to match the perfect family with the ideal Maine Coon kitten. We welcome your visit, phone call, or email to discuss what your looking for in your next furry child!
